Our History
The Montana Police Protective Association (MPPA) established the MPPA Foundation in 2005 as a tax-exempt non-profit organization. The foundation was created with a dedicated mission of providing support to law enforcement officers and their families. One of its early significant initiatives was taking over the administration of the MPPA Memorial Scholarship Fund, which had been serving as a means to provide educational opportunities for deserving children of law enforcement families.
By assuming responsibility for the MPPA Memorial Scholarship Fund, the foundation expanded its reach and impact in assisting law enforcement families. This move allowed the foundation to ensure the continued support and financial assistance for children of active-duty law enforcement families who were members of the MPPA.
Since its establishment, the Montana Police Protective Association Foundation (MPPAF) has remained committed to its core objective of aiding law enforcement officers and their families during challenging times. The foundation recognizes the sacrifices made by these dedicated individuals in the line of duty and seeks to provide both financial and emotional support.
Through charitable donations from individuals, MPPA members, and the proceeds generated from the MPPA Montana license plate revenue, the foundation has been able to expand its programs and initiatives. In addition to the scholarship program, the foundation has extended its support to families of law enforcement officers who are injured or killed while serving their communities.
With its rich history and unwavering dedication to law enforcement families and Montana communities, the Montana Police Protective Association Foundation (MPPAF) continues to make a positive impact through its programs, financial assistance, and community partnerships. By joining forces with generous donors and supporters, the foundation strives to ensure a brighter future for law enforcement officers and their loved ones while fostering stronger and safer communities across Montana.
